if you owe money in your savings account does it apply to your checking acount?

Because it says I have $6. 49 in my checkings account but I owe $5.00 in my savings account does that mean I only have 1.49 to spend? Or is the checkings account a seperate account that savings debts can’t touch.

Let’s say I have 40 dollars in my checking account, and 60 in my savings. If I use 50 dollars out of my checking, does it take the remaining needed out of my saving account?

Question states everything. I need to make a purchase, and quick, I really don’t want to risk transferring from my savings to my checkings account, and by that miss the deadline to order what I need. So is there anyway I can tie my purchase to my savings account?
